Title: Porcelain
Post by: jack6810 on November 05, 2014, 08:13:21 AM
I know there are many different variations of porcelain but what are the elements that most occur in porcelain. I am doing an assignment and have been asked to categorize a list of materials as a metal or a non metal depending on their properties. porcelain was one of these materials and i wasn't sure as looking at it and using it in everyday usage it appears not to be a metal but i seen somewhere that it is made of lots of minerals/clay which have metals in them such as K, Ca, Na, Al and Mg, so i wasn't sure on how to classify it. are the percentages of these metals present so small that it is still classed as a non metal? please *delete me*

many thanks to who ever answers. :)

Your body contains substantial amounts of calcium, potassium and sodium, not to mention iron and so on. Does it make you a metal?
