Title: WHAT IS ELECTRON DENSITY?
Post by: stacey on July 23, 2004, 09:03:53 AM
whAT IS ELECTRON DENSITY?  I ALREADY HAVE A SHORT EXPLANATION ON WHAT IT IS BUT IT IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY.

Loose the CAPS. It's considered shouting. Would you turn in an essay all in CAPS? I think not.

Electron density is best though of as a probability. The higher electon density somewhere in an atom or a molecule means there is a higher chance of finding an electron there.

You are asking about the electron density in an atom or you asking about the density of electron,How much dense an electron is?

SSSS, please note that electron density is not density of an electron, but rather the distribution of electron cloud.

Electron density is a number of electrons in unit volume.
