I need help understanding Polycyclic Organic Compounds (POC). They are mentioned in an air emission summary that I'm dealing with and I can't seem to find much information about them through the usual Google searches or even at EPAs webpage. So, that said, I have a few questions:
- What are some examples of compunds that are POCs?
- Is it possible the summary author used an uncommon name for something else? If so, what might that be?
- What sort of processes would produce POCs (or whatever they're called)? Combustion of petroleum based substances? Something else?
Thanks for any help that can be offered.
Cheers!

I think the author may very well mean something else, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Yes, polycyclic organic hydrocarbons is a more all inclusive term, but we're more or less agreed, to monitor PAH as a measurement of pollution. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycyclic_aromatic_hydrocarbon#Occurrence_and_pollution
