Title: Postive Choride ion
Post by: Vishal on January 30, 2015, 06:43:40 AM
Hi Everyone
There is problem created by lecturer about existance of Cl+ ion in some special condition.
Chlorine belong to halogen family which are highly electronegative in nature and can exist in chloride anion. Is it possible for existance of chloride cation ? If yes in which case does it happen ?

In chemical way molecules like ClF and ClF3 have some polarisation, but not really a cation.  But a cation I think is only possible in a high electical field or plasma conditions, also from physical nature.

@Vishal
Is this what the lecture was about?
