Title: Stoichiometry question
Post by: KH502 on April 28, 2015, 07:58:06 AM
Question:

2.24 × 10^–2 dm3 of H2 was evolved (formed) when 24 mg of a bivalent metal X reacted
with an access of HCl. X was:
A. Ca
B. Sr
C. K
D. Fe
E. Mg

Is there another way to solve this without having to test randomly every element?

Thanks.

Sure - reverse the process to estimate molar mass of the element involved.

Thanks! That makes sense ;D
