Hello!
I just have a quick question concerning rates of reactions. I encountered the following problems in my TB:
In the reaction 2A :rarrow: 3B, [A] drops from 0.5684M to 0.5522M in 2.50 min. What is the average rate of formation of B during this time interval expressed in Ms-1
I've attached the solution to the problem. I've also attached the formula to getting the rate of reaction
What I'm confused about is why isn't the negative coefficient for A (being -1/2) included as well? Why is it just 3/-2?

What is the difference between "rate of B formation" and "rate of reaction"?
