Title: What is the difference between reaction rate (dalpha/dt) and DTG (dw/dt) curve?
Post by: RD117 on July 14, 2015, 07:07:34 PM
Hi

What is the difference between reaction rate (dα/dt) and DTG (dw/dt) curve.

What is the difference between conversion (or) extent of reaction (α) and weight loss (w) in the TGA experiments?

conversion (or) extent of reaction (α)= (Wi-Wt)/(Wi-Wf)
weight loss (w) = (Wi-Wt)/Wi

Where Wi= initial mass, Wt=mass at time t, Wf= mass at the end of the reaction.

Thanks
