Title: Tread disappeared?
Post by: Enthalpy on July 18, 2015, 10:50:54 AM
Hi everybody!

I remember someone asked a bizarre question, about giant icebergs breaking away from Antarctica, and (whatever the reason) he had to determine how many survival tablets resembling sucrose he would need to burn to melt one. I had given some hints.

The thread isn't visible here (or did I miss it?) nor listed by Google nor listed in my posts. Has it disappeared? (Not that it would change the fate of oceanic navigation, I just wonder how the thread vanished).

Wow.  I don't remember that one.  Are you sure it was this forum?  I've heard some pretty weird things on The Straight Dope Message Board, as an example.

I don't remember such a thread (not that I read/remember everything).

Do you remember when it was, at least approximately? Week ago? Month ago? Year ago?

I saw it. I intended to reply after the fact but also couldn't find it.
I assume that the OP deleted it after you replied.
@Borek, it was about four days ago.

OK, I know what have happened. Thread is deleted now as the OP removed the content of the starting post after Enthalpy's answer.

Oh ... that one.  Sorry Enthalpy:, when someone deletes their entire thread, I don't see a point in keeping it around.  Its not fair that your work was lost with it, but without even a title ... We can have it back ... I think.  Its here: http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=81229.0
