Title: Swimming pool chemistry help
Post by: mik on April 26, 2006, 01:33:46 PM
Sodium tetraborate pentahydrate Na2B4O75H2O Is a pool chemical called proteam supreme
Sodium tetraborate decahydrate Na2B4O710H2O Is 20 Mule Team Borate sold at walmart
Is the 10H2O just more diluted?
My real question is it going hurt to use 20 Mule Team Borate instead of ProTeam Supreme

Claims
raises Ph and acts as a buffer

Thanks for any help

They're both solid! Na2B4O7 *10 H2O has more crystal water.

No, but if you have to use a specific quantity (mass) of sodium tetraborate decahydrate you need more because it has a higher molar mass.
