Title: USNCO National Exam 2003 problem 43
Post by: cjby69 on January 09, 2016, 12:55:15 PM
The question:
Which region of the electromagnetic spectrum is capable of inducing electron transitions with the greatest energy?
A) infrared
B) microwave
C) ultraviolet
D) visible

I put B, because I thought that since microwaves had the highest energy, they would be able to induce electron transitions in a similar way.

But, the answer is actually C) ultraviolet. Could someone explain this to me? Thanks.
