Title: synthesis of alcohols

Hi everyone ! I was wondering what does traditional synthesis of alcohol suppose to mean? does it the usual oxiation, dehydration, reaction we got?
And what about Innovation synthesis of alcohols, are these examples of new way synthesizing specific alcohols?

When you know, absolutely nothing at all about a subject, and want to know absolutely everything, a good starting point is a text book.  Its very rare for a text book chapter to be posted in a real time forum posting.  I've never heard of traditional used as a description for alcohol synthesis.  And I suspect Innovation is something you made up, because you would probably have an example, if you read it somewhere..  However, maybe you can try to understand by starting with Wikipedia, and maybe ask the question in a different way.
