Title: Alcohol, milk and cream
Post by: asder99 on February 08, 2016, 10:51:29 AM
Hi!
It's a weird question, but I need an help.
I need a flavored whiskey. I've already made such things, but using neither milk nor cream.
Now I'm tryng to add some butterscotch cream, and it's made with milk, butter and cream... so I have some question about it.

With a 100 Proof alcohol, if I leave some milk in it, it will expire like the milk or will it last longer?

And how can I mix it properly? Because I made a test in a small glass, and after 30 minutes I can clearly see the alcohol on the bottom and the cream on the top...

Thanks a lot!

Milk has been preserved for centuries by adding alcohol.  Nothing lasts forever of course, but you can greatly extend the shelf life.  I'd suggest beginning by copying existing products, or looking up similar recipes.  As an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_cream
