Title: Need help on this pls(Very very urgent)!!!
Post by: Maikel01 on April 28, 2016, 01:29:44 AM
(1) 0.1M HCL solution was titrated against 25cm cube
portions of a
 sample of Na2CO3 solution made by making up 14.3g
 of impure salt to 1
dm cube with distilled water. The following results
 were obtained.

Final burette reading, cm3 | 24.85 | 49.45 | 25.05 |

Initial burette reading, cm3 |0.00 | 24.85 | 0.50 |

i. Write the equation for the reaction.
ii. Calculate the titre value.
iii. Calculate the percentage purity of Na2CO3 salt.

Will be Very Grateful, if it is considered, need to
submit this before
12:00 today.....Thanks.

Here is the second question;

(2) A, B, C and D are dilute solutions of FeSO4, AgNO3, HCL and CuSO4, but not necessarily in that order. Q, R, S and T are strips of the metals Zn, Cu, Fe and Pb, but not necessarily in that order. Each of the metal was added to each of the solutions in separate test-tube. The following observation were made;

I. Identify the metals Q, R, S and T stating your reasons.
II. Identify the aqeous solutions A, B, C and D. State your reasons.
III. Name the gas evolved and state how you would test for it.

Alright AWK.....what I think about the first question is that the equation for the reaction should be;

Na2CO3 + HCL ::equil:: NaHCO3(aq) + Nacl(aq)

No, we titrate to the end - that is, reaction goes a step further.

Kindly trouble yourself to read the Forum Rules{click} (http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=65859.0)  You were directed to them by AWK:, and now I have to be clear:  you are violating several, again and again.

You asked two questions, and they're not related to each other.  Which one are you "fed up with"?  Do you truly believe a group of strangers cares about what you're "fed up with"?  Do you often, as an adult, just walk in and say "I am fed up with this"?  By all means, try it out on your instructor instead of us.
