Title: Algorithm Question

Is there some mathematical algorithm that falls in line with the chemical properties of elements? I have an interest in chemistry but I'm just starting out and no formal education. I understand the placements but want to better understand the properties of each or why they are what they are. What I'm thinking of as far as some sort of equation if you place the ingredients into the equation could  that give you the properties of the exponents.

Well,you're close to something that might be what you're looking for.  Look up the periodic table, and try to see what its about, and how it was arranged originally.
