Title: Writing chemical formulae of household products

Hi, I'm unsure how to write the formula for Milton sterilising fluid. According to Milton, it is: "...made of an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite and 16.5% sodium chloride. The Milton Fluid that is available to buy is a strength of 2% sodium hypochlorite." I simply have to write the formula for the product in my laboratory report, but I don't know how I'd write one with this information. I'm terrible at chemistry. Thank you.  :)

You have to write the formula, and the substance in question is clearly a mixture of two or more things.  Start by listing those things, in words.  Write their percentages, if you feel like it.  Rewrite the words as chemical formulas, using chemistry shorthand.Let's see what you get, and we'll help you from there.

The only active substance in Milton fluid is sodium hypochlorite. In my opinion, writing down its formula is sufficient.
