Title: Comparison of nucleophilic strength (urgent)

Hi ! I can't understand why Methoxide ion ( CH₃O^- ) is more nucleophilic than an Acetate ion ( CH₃CO₂^- ) in protic solvents like water.

Please reply fast. Can't move on unless this doubt has been solved.
