I was given the names and I had to come up with the formula's and reactions. How do they look?
a) zinc sulphate + barium nitrate -->
ZnSO4 + Ba(NO3)2 --> ZN(NO3)2 + BaSO4
b) gold (III) sulphate + barium chloride -->
Au2(SO4)3 + 3BaCl2 --> 3BaSO4 + 2AuCl3
c) zinc + mercurous nitrate -->
2Zn + Hg2Cl2 --> 2Hg + ZnCl2
d) tin + antimony (V) chloride -->
5Sn + 2SbCl5 --> 2Sb + 5SnCl2
e) calcium + water -->
Ca + 2H2O --> Ca(OH)2 + H2
f) ferrous bromide + phosphoric acid -->
3FeBr2 + 2H3PO4 --> 6HBr + Fe3(PO4)2
g) the complete combustion of ethene C2H4-->
C2H4 + 3O2 --> 2H2O + 2CO2
h) calcium carbonate + hydrobromic acid -->
CaCO3 + 2HBr --> CaBr2 + CO2 + H20

I seriously don't want this to become a homework check website. So please keep these kinds of posts to a minimum.

They all seem correct.

Sorry :-[ Since it is a homestudy course I don't have a class to check them in. I will find another way. My apologies.

c) zinc + mercurous nitrate -->
2Zn + Hg2Cl2 --> 2Hg + ZnCl2
I don't see any nitrate....

True. :-[
Still, the chemical equations are properly balanced, aren't they?

Oops, I must have read it as chloride because both answers on either side contain chloride. *smacks forehead*
