Title: Calculations?
Post by: trishasales714 on February 13, 2017, 08:20:55 PM
I'm supposed to make a 1 x 10 ^-1 M solution of a compound with a 400 g/mol molecular weight. I calculated how much solute I'd need and its 40g??? I think the calculations may be correct but this is odd considering you don't usually make that much product.

EDIT: I thought of something- so instead of doing 40 g in 1000 ml (I don't need that much) I could do 0.4 g in 10 ml, correct?

Correct.
