Title: What is the use of liquid nitrogen in NMR Spectrometer?
Post by: Winga on August 21, 2004, 11:52:57 AM
Is it used for cooling down the system or providing a low temperature condition for electron delocalization in superconductor?

superconductivity.

That mean NMR Spectrometer does not generate much heat, right?

And why the superconductor generates a current only in very low temperature?

Do metals "in general" conduct electricity better at lower or higher temperatures?

Lower temp.

In normal conditions, can superconductor itself generate electric current or not?

The liquid nitrogen with  liquid He together   providing a low temperature condition for  superconductor.
