Post by: lumberjack on August 22, 2004, 01:00:31 PM
How can I find the concentration of acetic acid in an aqueous soln ?

i.e.  Vinegar :arrowhead: 5%  acidity

The usual way to determine concentration of an acid is to titrate drop by drop into a basic solution of known volume and concentration, and working out the amount taken to neutralise PH exactly.

For most calculation you may use density of water instead because the density of vinegar is 1.0055 g/mL
Glacial acetic acid shows density of 1.0492 g/mL.
