Title: AMINE DETECTION AND REMOVAL
Post by: vader on August 23, 2004, 01:02:06 PM
Q1: From a solution, how could I use a wet chemical method to remove primary, secondary and tertiary amine?
Q2: Is there a way to add a chemical or compound to enable me to detect such amines with a spectrophotometer?
If anyone knows, I would appreciate the help.
Thank you and have a great day.

You could probably salt them out by adding an acid.

Another alternative is to wash with aqueous CuSO4.

I don't know enough about spectrophotometers to help you with that.

Not have much idea about spectrophotometer. But you can detect a primary, secondry and tertiary amine from a compound by hiesenberg test.

IR will tell you whether you have an amine or not.
