Title: Unvulcanized rubber compound - expiration date calculation
Post by: stepan89 on July 18, 2017, 10:48:00 AM
Hello everybody, can somebody please answer me this 'simple' question?

How is the expiration/shelf-life of uncured rubber compound estimated? Are there any calculations for that (rheological values, heat history, etc.), or is it always just an estimation based on experience?

Thank you for you answers.

Look up time-temperature superposition and dynamic mechanical analysis."creep" is also a good term to understand

There is rigorous science associated with aging of polymers
