Post by: Zeus01 on August 22, 2017, 07:54:08 AM
I tought about using aluminum foil to make aluminum hydroxide with NaOH so by evaporating water i can have aluminum hydroxide but how can i convert it back on aluminum so I can have aluminum powder?

What it is that you are really trying to do?

In general dissolving Al in NaOH doesn't produce aluminum hydroxide. Drying the produced solution out doesn't produce aluminum hydroxide either. And reducing Al to get in the metallic form is quite energy consuming.

I'm trying to make aluminum powder without using a ball mill or something but just with maybe a chemical method. I'm only at the first year of high school we haven't done chemistry yet

My advice: forget about chemical method.
