I doubt Chemistry has changed much in the past 8 years. I think you'll be fine, don't stress out before you even start taking chem classes. Get this book to review http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0486656225/thechemicalfo-20/002-3684750-5645629?%5Fencoding=UTF8&camp=1789&link%5Fcode=xm2

For organic chemistry, I would recommend this book

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0582446953/qid=1150195526/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-5863907-2347206?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

It's pretty basic, but excellent revision. I have read it cover to cover in the past two summer vacations to stay on the ball. It basically is all of first year organic chemistry in one easy to read book.
