Title: pi and n are too similar
Post by: Corribus on October 07, 2017, 09:13:08 PM
I know it seems like a small thing, but for a spectroscopist, the similarity in appearance of the Greek π (pi) to the letter n is vexing. Is it possible to get a more pi-looking pi symbol?

TBH I don't like the Greek letters either. Several ways of doing that using formatting tools that we already have:

Latex: [itex]\pi[/itex] and [itex]\sigma[/itex]

Times New Roman: π and σ

Times New Roman 12 pt: π and σ

Times New Roman 12 pt bold: π and σ

I suppose I can easily change letters inserted into the text by clicking to one of these. What I am afraid of is that I have no idea how it will look on other machines than mine (the default font is selected to make the forum look consistently on all machines).
