Title: NEED HELP: TRYING TO MAKE SILLY PUTTY/SLIME
Post by: slimetastic on November 09, 2017, 06:35:49 PM
I have been trying to figure this out for literally MONTHS, and I need some help. I am trying to make something similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Blomiky-Crystal-Plasticine-Modeling-Play-set/dp/B0116YCQ1O/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1510270370&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=crystal+modeling+clay&psc=1

It's basically silly putty. I understand you can make this with glue (polyvinyl acetate) and borax solution, but I want to make one that won't go back to it's original consistency of glue. I want to make a silly putty that will stay a putty without having to continuously add borax solution. Can anyone help me with how to go about making this?

Online, all i've found is people stating the ingredients are "purified water, gelatin, water soluble resin, and liquid paraffin". I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Any insight would be awesome :). P.S. I'm not a chem major so I have no idea what I'm doing.
