Title: How to find positive formal charge of a molecule?
Post by: IBM on December 05, 2017, 01:31:53 AM
A formal charge has a value of either a positive integer, a negative integer, or zero according  to the definition. But when I calculate formal charge of any molecule, I find either negative (-) or zero (o) value but I did not face any positive value. Could you help me to find the positive value of formal charge? Thanking you.

I'm not sure that formal charge of a molecule makes much sense, linguistically, but can you show working for e.g. propanoate, acetylcholine and ethanal?
