Title: Carbonyl chemistry reaction questions

I am having trouble understanding how aldehydes react with bases. For example: If I react acetylaldehyde (CH3CHO) with a good nucleophile/base (-OH) would that undergo Aldol Condensation or Nucleophilic Addition?

Consider what might happen if this undergoes nucleophilic attack.
