Title: what if carbon 2 had an oxygen in dna
Post by: Lu-e on September 02, 2004, 01:24:37 AM
i don't know if this is the place to ask this question, but i'll ask anyway. a professor of mine asked the class, "what would happen if carbon-2 in DNA was hydroxylized." or "what would happen if oxygen was present on carbon-2 of DNA." i know that RNA has oxygen present in carbon-2, but the question is asking about DNA. any input would really be appreciated. thanks

DNA changes into RNA, if it concerns all 2-carbons of DNA
