Title: Why is the Barium ion paramagnetic if it has no unpaired electrons?
Post by: TrevS16 on October 18, 2018, 11:35:28 PM
Stuck on this and I haven't seen any credible articles (that I can understand) that covers this. I have learned off of wikipedia that it is paramagnetic but I have no idea why.

Welcome, TrevS16!

I've seen no mention of a paramagnetic ion in Wiki's article about barium. The only statement I saw there is about the metal.
