Title: how can i identify distilled water?
Post by: danavuia.1987 on January 11, 2019, 03:03:02 AM
If i make total alkalinity ( 100 ml water , 2-3 drops of metylorange and HCl 0.1 N titration, ) and the result*2.8=temporary hardness (the hardness that dissapears on boiling) .
This valus shold be very small?
Or it should be 0?

Distilled water will not have any calcium. A titration with HCl will get with 1 drop a indicator change.
