Title: Concentration galvanic cell
Post by: kapital on February 17, 2019, 06:20:43 AM
Why does diffrence only in concetration couse voltage difference? I know it can be calculated with Nernst equation but I am interesting in underlaying mechanism. Thanx for answers.

What do you mean with: underlaying mechanism. The voltage depends on the kind of metals for Anode and Cathode and the concentration of them, nothing more. As you pointed out already, calculation is done with Nernst equation.

I do not undestened how ions cotribute to potential. I understand metals have diffrent electronegativity(or electric potential), but I do not undesrstand the role of ions in that.
