Title: Catalyst?
Post by: mpprogram6771 on March 27, 2019, 02:21:01 PM
Does anyone know a good catalyst for this reaction?
[*:1]C=O + OC(=O)[*:2] -> [*:1]C(=O)OC(=O)[*:2] + H2

Where neither [*:1] nor [*:2] are halides; both are carbon chains.
Any advice on a catalyst? Thanks!

Is there a particular reason you are using an aldehyde for this synthesis over the acid chloride?
