Title: Where can you get a chemistry consultation?
Post by: rnhaas on March 29, 2019, 04:24:28 PM
Hi,
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this type of question. It didn't seem to fit in with any of the other topic areas, and this was the first forum I found.

I work for someone who has created a chemical product for human use. (It is safe, to the best of my knowledge.) He has never done this before, and doesn't really know much about the industry the product is for - he's a longtime consumer, only. He is looking to hire a freelance chemist for consulting work, to advise him about his particular formula (and help him improve it) and to help him with some other questions he has about this type of chemical the industry he will be selling it in.

My question for you is: where would you post an ad? We have tried general freelance websites, but there are so few chemists on there we usually only get one response, if we're lucky. Do any of you know a good place?

Thanks very much!

Again, apologies if this is the wrong place for this question.

Your ad should be for a formulation chemist and describe which industry it is for. Is this a beauty product or some kind of supplement?

So is that an invitation to post the ad here? (I just want to be clear. I admin a forum myself, and hate spam.)

You can post the ad here, but our audience is more education focus than entrepreneurs.

If you are really serious, you could pay to post an advertisement in C&EN. Or go to a national/regional ACS meeting.
