Title: Endothermic Reaction
Post by: NiceAesthetics on April 19, 2019, 02:45:46 PM
So I got a question that asked "an endothermic reaction _________"
A) delta H = neg and feel cold if it occurred in your hand
B) delta H = pos and feel cold if it occurred in your hand
C) delta H = neg and feel warm if it occurred in your hand
D) delta H = pos and feel warm if it occurred in your hand

Is the answer not B, it would have delta H be positive and feel cold? The correct answer says it is D. Am I not reading it right? Is it asking if the reaction literally were to take place inside of my hand where my hand would be drawing heat out of the surroundings? I interpreted as if an endothermic reaction were to take place in the palm of my hand.

D is not the correct answer.

Exothermic - mixture get hot (reaction produces heat).

Endothermic - mixture gets cold (reaction consumes heat).
