nutmeg extraction
« on: November 10, 2006, 01:57:47 AM »
i hope that somebody can help me.  In doing a lipid extraction of nutmeg, what kind of data should the chromatography show?  Should 2 streaks show up for the crude and 2 for the recrystallized nutmeg?  Also, should some of the fractions line up with the suspected fatty acid?  lastly, is triolein found in nutmeg and are there any other fatty acids found in nutmeg besides trimyristin (is that the same as triolein?)?  Sorry for all the questions.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hello:
