Copper ions
« on: November 13, 2006, 05:51:05 PM »
In its ground state the electron configuration of copper is: (Ar) 3d104s1.
When a Cu+ion is formed I assume that the electron configuration is (Ar) 3d10 (is this correct?).
What is the electron configuration when a Cu2+ ion is formed?
