Controlling Double Bond in Ring Closing Metathesis
« on: October 15, 2007, 10:55:22 AM »
Hey all,

I am trying to selectively control cis fusion during my ring closing metathesis of a 13-membered lactone.  Any ideas in doing this?  Is there a good way to get this as my major isomer or should I do an alkyne metathesis and cis-reduction.  I also have a few other alkenes in my molecule so controlling that reduction might be an issue.

References appreciated too!

Thanks so much!
