Mixing Hydrogen peroxide to a phosphoric acid solution.
« on: August 05, 2005, 01:38:17 PM »
Hello, can anyone advise me please,

I am aware of the volatility of "piranha" solutions using Sulfuric acid and H2O2.

Can anyone tell me if I should be aware of any potential chemical reaction to mixing peroxide and phosphoric acid solutions.

no i don't think there will occur any reaction, because there is no suitable reductor. H2O2 is a strong oxidator in acid environment ( E(0) = +1,763 V)

sulfuric acid catalyses the oxidation process.
