I'd like to make sure i'm correct about this.
Something with an unstable bond means it will release a lot of energy when the bond is broken and something more stable is formed.
Conversely, something with a stable bond will release very little energy when the bond is broken and something more stable is formed.
So I want to look at heat of hydrogenations of alkyne vs alkene. But first, I have to preface this question:
Are alkynes more stable than alkenes?
