I tried to send you a PM to ask in more detail about what I might or might not be permitted to ask in a future post now that it is known that I´m helping locals to produce a topical ointment. But, I found that I´m not permitted to send PM´s and my thread was closed, so I created this one. If this is not the proper place for my question, please indicate the accepted form of communication for my request. If this forum is an acceptable place to ask then please tell me if I might be allowed to ask simple questions like which will evaporate faster, isopropyl alcohol or methyl salicylate?

Yes, you can ask general knowledge questions like that.  We're glad to help.  Unfortunately, this particular one isn't that easy to answer.  You might be able to use their relative vapor pressures to compare the two, but that variable is kinda obscure, and there's no standard conditions for it, you you may not be able to compare the two.
