Lewis Acids

I am looking for a Lewis Acid that has a very fast evaporation rate. I have successfully used Zinc Chloride in my formula, but it does not evaporate. I appreciate any help.

How about BBr3 or BCl3?

Be careful though, they are both pretty potent.

BF3 would work too, but you usually get it as the etherate complex, which boils at 126 degrees C according to my Aldrich catalog.  Neat BF3 is a gas.

You can order BF3 in a tank.  I've worked with the etherate complex before, and I wasn't thrilled about it; it fumes a lot and makes HF, but hey...  the anhydrous gas is a lot worse.
