1,3 di(dimethylethyl)cyclohexane twisted boat and chair structure
« on: September 24, 2007, 12:39:10 AM »
Hey guys,

I had a question bothering me for a while.
1,3 di(dimethylethyl)cyclohexane is a compound which has cis and trans isomerism. One isomer exists in  twisted boat structure and the other in a chair structure. Which one exist in twisted boat conformation and which on exist in chair transformation? And why would chair isomer have a higher energy?

Please help me to understand this problem. I hope i have worded my question properly.

Regards,
Saad.
