Q on Hydroboration reaction
« on: June 01, 2008, 06:26:57 PM »
I just run a hydroboration reaction on a double bond which is attached to a oxazole ring by using 9-BBN and hydrogen peroxide (30%) and KOH (3 N). After 4 hours at rt, most material decomposed with only around 10% of recovered SM.

Does anybody know what might happen in this reaction?

Is the oxazole ring not stable under this conditions?

Thanks
