Buffers and Molarity
« on: September 29, 2009, 03:50:48 PM »
Hi everyone I hope someone can *delete me*!

i have made a buffer from KH2PO4 + NaOH---> HPO4+H20.
I started with 50ml of 1 M KH2PO4 and added 29.1ml of 1 M NaOH to reach a pH of 7.2. I then added H2O to a final volume of 100ml.

My question is how can i find the molarity of the product HPO4? I understend the basics of molarity but do not know how the NaOH will affect the final HPO4 molarity.

Any help would be great.
Mark

Look at your reaction equation stoichiometry - how many moles of HPO42- were produced?

What is final volume of the solution?
