« on: February 01, 2010, 03:44:58 PM »
Is it just 3 fluoride to 1 manganese?
the bottle says Manganese (III) fluoride 99%

Yes

That's the purity - ie. the contents is 99% MnF3, 1% other (you can check the suppliers website if you need info on what that might be)

Actually, to calculate the % of F in MnF3, don't you take the molar mass of F divided by the total molecular weight of MnF3?
about 50.92% F in MnF3 then?

That's fine if you wanted to find the % of F.

But :
the bottle says Manganese (III) fluoride 99%
It doesn't say 99% F.

So, as Dan said, it refers to the purity of MnF3
