What happens to Caffeine, Sodium Benzoate and water
« on: June 10, 2010, 03:46:07 PM »
Hi,

I am making a gardening product which involves an aqueous solution of around 12% caffeine, 30% Sodium Benzoate and the rest water.

Please help me with the following

  • I would be really grateful if somebody could let me know what compounds they think will be produced by this mixture at 25c temperature.  I think sodium benzoate will dissolve as it is in water am I right?
  • Importantly I'd like to know if sodium benzoate is likely to break down in to soils.
  • If it breaks down what would it break down into.
thanks in advance

Absolutely nothing
