Hi...., This is my first post in this forum. Im a post graduate chemistry student. I have a doubt about interaction of electromagnetic radiation with molecular system in physical chemistry.I want to know how to derive the second equation from first one (see attachment). Have surfed it in google several times but no luck.Hope to get an answer. Pl do let me know if further clarifications required.
Thanks in advance.

Further clarifications would be helpful. You are dealing with the Rabi frequency, correct?  Is this off resonance or on resonance? The notation used here is different than what I'm used to.

Could you perhaps upload an image of more of the page, for context?

I assume you are familiar with applying Euler's formula and complex conjugate, yes?

Yes, plus I asked for some clarification which I regard as prerequisite for me being able to assist you further.
