The Sun/Zeng method affords excellent size control and very narrow size distributions. The problem is that the resulting particles are hydrophobic and the ligands needs to be exchanged in order to confer stability in water.
Does anyone have a method analogous to the Sun method?
Failing this, the ligand exchange itself is facile, but the cleaning steps are critical to prepare the hydrophobic nanoparticles for phase transfer, and also to remove aggregates post-transfer.
