Best non-effervescent acid neutralizer

(1/1)

tobiask190:
I'm currently dealing with an experiment that includes iron ions in acidic solutions. Baking soda works as usual except that the iron decides to foam up with the baking soda, creating a nice column of foam that gets everywhere during clean up. Any suggestions on any neutralizers that won't cause bubbling?

Mitch:
Baking soda plus acid will make the foam. What exactly are you trying to do? Can you not use baking soda?
